Hello,
at first let me apologize that I am not speaking spanish, so I can only do conversation in english language.
I am a collector of Dual turntables and other Dual products of consumer electronics. I also write a book in german language about the history of this traditional manufacter in the black forest.
For a new issue I am looking about some informations . I got the information that Dual turntables were produced under license in chile in the 60´s and 70´s.
But there a very few information about this theme. I only found some Dual turntables" mady by DUALfon".
Can anybody give me some information about Dual todadiscos "made in Chile"

Dear Noko,
Thanks for writing to us. I apologize since my level of English is very basic (I used the google translator). However, I did not want to stop answering your question.
The "Dual" turntables were very recognized in Chile, given their reputation as a quality brand, for years they were imported, but it is very possible that its acquisition be available only to buyers of good purchasing power. That is why many teams of brands such as
"RCA" and "Phillips". Even in the 1970s, a Chilean-made portable turntable model, the IRT brand, became very popular.
We do not currently have information on "Dual" or "Dualphone" brand electronic equipment manufactured in Chile until the mid-1980s,
which is the period when equipment was manufactured in this country. From that date on, audio and sound equipment is no longer manufactured, since manufacturing costs in Chile exceed the purchase price of equipment from China, Korea and even Brazil.
If we have a reference to some radio models that were made in Chile with a SABA license, and it is likely that this factory has tried (without success) introduce into the Chilean market a turntable or "pick-up" with German technology, where as a marketing strategy, it could be given the most similar name to "Dual" to attract the buyer and perhaps also, because the original brand license was not obtained.
Anyway, I am generating an internal consultation to the rest of the members of Radiomaniacos, so that they are attentive to new antecedents about the Dual brand in Chile.
Regards.

Estimado Noko,
Saludos.
